This teacup and saucer set is from the 1950's and is made by the well-regarded Shelley company. The pattern is called "Dainty Pink." This is a beautifully feminine white and pink fluted teacup with embossing on the saucer. Translucent in the light, it's quality is very apparent. Shelley is known for the phrase, "If you give it a ping it will give you a ring!" meaning it has a distinctive sound when you tap it with your fingernail. If you've never owned a Shelley teacup this is a lovely one to start with: Very impressive! Give to your maid of honor, or as a house warming gift. It's elegance will be well-received.
The teacup measures 2 3/8 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5 3/4 inches in diameter.
